ABC News. (2006). Foster Care: A system in crisis [Documentary]. United States: Films Media Group.

This documentary is a collection of news segments compiled by ABC News.  The segments tell the stories of children in foster care homes around the country, and discuss the hardships and challenges many children face in the foster care system.  In this film, foster homes are compared in contrast to group homes and adoption programs.

While America is the wealthiest country in the world, this film states that more than 37 million Americans live below the poverty line.  Through the use of interviewing techniques, this documentary looks at the hardships faced by the working poor and the phenomenon of poverty is passed from generation to generation.  

(2006). Homeless: A teen perspective [Documentary]. United States: Films Media Group.

This film is a personal look of the lives of two homeless teenage girls.  The film goes beyond the stereotypes of run-a-ways and drug addicts and reveals the hardships of living the teen years on the streets.  Other vignettes share stories of hope, as featured personalities filmed reveal their triumphant successes.
